EASTER IN JERUSALEM

The tour starts with an enchanting overview of the Judean desert and Jordan valley from Jerusalem. From there you will join the procession of palms with many pilgrims from Mt. Of Olives and walk to the Old city.

The procession follows in the footsteps of Jesus as he entered the city for the first time after having been named the Messiah, greeted by cheering crowds bearing palm fronds.  

The procession passes through significant Christian landmarks:

The Chapel of Bethpage – where Jesus sent his disciples to find a donkey on which he could ride into Jerusalem, the Church of the Ascension, where according to tradition Jesus ascended to Heaven after his resurrection and Dominus Flevit, the place where Jesus foresaw the destruction of Jerusalem.

We continue down to the Kidron valley via Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed the night before his crucifixion. We then enter the Old City through the Lion’s Gate which leads into the Christian Quarter and the Via Dolorosa. We then finish by strolling along the Via Dolorosa and the Church of St Anna & Bethseda.
